**Bifrost** is a middleware platform that allows developers to create decentralized applications **(DApps)** based on multiple protocols. **Bifrost** goes beyond a single blockchain and creates a new environment where developers can combine the best protocols.

About the project **BIFROST** was founded in 2017 by two professors and another founder with a strong background in finance and computer science, Dohyun Pak, Jonhyup Lee and Chanhyun Yu, with the goal of developing a multi-chain middleware platform that will allow developers to create decentralized applications **(DApps)** on top of multiple protocols. BIFROST has introduced a number of decentralized finance (DeFi) products including BiFi, BiFi X, ChainRunner, Biport and is now focusing on building a multi-chain ecosystem within our network using **BIFROST's** own multi-chain technology. The company recently raised $8.4 million after a $3.3 million Seed round in 2019 from some of South Korea's largest funds.

Existing applications developed by the **BIFROST** team will be migrated to the **BIFROST** network, and new products are under development. **BiFi**, the credit/loan marketplace, and interchain DEX will be the backbone of the **BIFROST** DeFi ecosystem. ChainRunner will act as the router for interchain transactions on DEX. Having these native interchain products on the **BIFROST** Network will provide a new level of user experience through the synergy and composite that will be possible.
