# How To Create GOOD ART

MY ANSWER // Think Deeper
-------------------------

\*\* \*\*Over the last few months, I have been very fortunate to have attended a couple of guest lecturers curated by artists. How these lectures typically work is the artist stands at the front of the class and showcases their work as a “PowerPoint” style presentation - where they talk in detail, or sometimes even perform, about their art.

During these presentations I find myself fascinated by the way the artists conduct themselves and how they articulate their thoughts with ease. Not only is it impressive, but it makes me respect their art a lot more than had I simply seen their work online.

Now, my point is not about the medium in which I consume the art but rather about the delivery and intention of the art and how that affects my relationship with what I am consuming.\*\* \*\*

My biggest takeaway from these talks has been the _intention & planning_ behind the art. There is a clear storyline to all their work, from start (the motivation/the feeling/ the spark) to the finish (the art form/ the message / the impact). **The details and story are where value is created.** As am sure you have heard before - the _story is king_.

\*\* \*\*

When I look at my previous work, and the place where I started - I see a lot of experimental content. A lot of my ideas are striving to deliver a similar outcome to the people I idolize//inspire me; however, I often fall short of creating the same impact as them. \*\* \*\*

At the very beginning of my creative career, this was due to a lack of skill (which is completely normal at the beginning of any career). However, as the years went on, I found my delivery falling short not by my technical skills but rather by the intention behind my work. Don’t get me wrong, there are some songs that I am incredibly proud of which have created an amazing impact on people’s life (my DM’s serve as evidence to this point!). However, I know that there is always room to improve. \*\* \*\*

\*\*So where am I going with this? \*\*

I am simply saying that I am ready to learn and push myself further to create bodies of work that are made with intention, have been planned out, tell a story, and are cohesive. Because as I said, this is where the value is created.

I want my art to be recognizable across all forms, and all social platforms. I’m envisioning a world where my Youtube content speaks with the content being created on Instagram and TikTok. A world where the words I type on Twitter echo the meaning behind my work - and serve to help and inspire others along the way.

As I am typing these words, it helps me find clarity. With enough work, and deep thinking, the day when I create the world I want will arrive very soon.
