Growth in income from software operations

In recent days, the Department of Safety and Security has published the first quarter of 2023 on the operation of software and information technology services (hereinafter referred to as the software industry). A quarter of the year, our software industry continued to operate well, with a software business income of $241.5 billion, an increase of 13.5 per cent, and a growth rate of 15.1 per cent, with a double-digit increase in total software profits. In addition, during the first quarter, software outsourcing services exports increased by 7.9 per cent on the same basis.

In terms of subsector operations, a quarter of the year saw a steady increase in software product income of $605.8 million, a 12.1 per cent increase over the same period, representing 24.8 per cent of industry-wide income, of which $59.5 billion was generated for industrial software products and 12.5 per cent for the same growth. Information technology services received $158.45 million a quarter, an increase of 13.9 per cent, a slight increase. Among them, cloud computing and large data services generated a total income of $26.2 billion, an increase of 16.6 per cent, or 16.5 per cent, of information technology service income. Information security income grew steadily in the first quarter, with income from information security products and services of $36.7 billion, up from 11.1 per cent, and income from embedded system software accelerated, with income from embedded system software of $21.4 billion, an increase of 14.7 per cent.

In terms of the operation of the sub-region, the increase in software operating income in the central and western regions was a major increase in the east. In the first quarter, the income from the completion of software operations in the east was $206.4 million, an increase of 13.9 per cent, or 0.4 per cent, above the overall level of the sector; in the central region, $82 billion, an increase of 12.5 per cent, or an increase of 2.2 per cent, as compared with 1 February; in the western region, $272.5 billion, an increase of 11.2 per cent, an increase of 1.3 per cent over the year-February; and in the north-east, an increase of $405 billion in the completion of software operations, an increase of 12.3 per cent over the year-February, an increase of 2.9 per cent. Four regions accounted for 83.8 per cent, 3.4 per cent, 11.2 per cent and 1.7 per cent of total national income.
