Dawn joined Tools for Humanity, to build next generation finance into World
We’re excited to share that earlier this year Dawn joined Tools for Humanity, having been acquired by the company, to build next generation finance into World App. We started Dawn in 2023 with the belief that a new internet-native economy was emerging on top of blockchains. The world will embrace blockchains through mobile devices first; but we felt too many of the interfaces were built for a seasoned audience, with broken wallet connections and failing transactions too often the norm. We bui...

Dawn is launching its on-chain democracy tool. This brings voting in DAOs to mobile and lets you vote on the go whenever a new proposal goes live. It comes packed with:
Governance news feed of your upcoming and active votes, based on tokens you hold or delegations you may have
Proposal descriptions - see the proposal content, votes for + against and more
Explore DAOs and protocols, choose those that you want to see in your news feed
Receive push notifications when a new vote goes live, so you never miss one whilst you’re on the go
Support for on-chain proposals and preliminary off-chain Snapshot proposals
Ethereum is all about community ownership and building a decentralised ethos for the governance of its projects. However, it is still too difficult to get involved with voting on the go and only a small fraction of token holders vote.
By building this release, Dawn is breaking down the barriers to taking part in governance, making relevant proposals digestible, discoverable and accessible to you on mobile within your Dawn wallet!
Dawn vote features a governance news feed. It surfaces, in a single place, all the on-chain votes that are relevant to you based on which governance tokens and delegations you have:

You can browse your proposals and when you are ready to vote on one, click into it to see the full details:

Then simply click Vote and you’ll be taken to Boardroom or Snapshot on Safari where you can place your vote with our Safari extension!
There’s a huge universe of DAOs and protocols building everything from cutting edge decentralised finance infrastructure to bringing together groups of creators and artists. But it’s sometimes tricky to find which communities you want to get involved in.
Dawn now features an “Explore” page where you can browse DAOs and join the ones you’re interested in. Joining will mix the proposals of the community into your news feed where you can get involved!

Often it’s hard to know when a new governance vote is going live and you can accidentally miss them. Dawn now has push notifications for on-chain proposals, powered by Daylight, so you can easily stay up to date and submit your votes on the move! Off-chain notifications are coming.

We’re extremely excited to make governance much more accessible by making it work on mobile.
The traditional way of taking part in governance was to have a friend ping you when a new vote went live, dig out your wallet, find the connector wire, plug it into your laptop and punch in those keys to vote.
Now you can get a push notification on your Dawn mobile wallet, see a summary of the vote in your news feed and vote through Safari using Dawn’s Safari extension.
Let us know what you think and ping us with your thoughts! There’s lots more to come, including:
Native in-app voting
GPT summarised proposal descriptions
More information about DAOs to join and the governance abilities of your tokens
