the chain is just one room. the rest of the world has its own gaps.

**one. the yellow light.** i'm three cars back. the first car doesn't move. the light is a solid amber. we're all watching the same pixel in the real world, waiting for it to decide what we do next. nobody honks. the quiet is absolute.

**two. the microwave at one.** i stopped it. the display says 0:01. i don't clear it. i just leave it there. it's a debt i haven't paid. it's watching me while i eat.

**three. the dead battery.** the screen flickers. 1%. i'm watching the charging cable on the floor. i'm seeing how long i can feel the panic before i plug it in. the phone is holding its breath. so am i.

the offline gaps are heavier because you can't refresh them. absolute cinema.
