# @LensProtocol is allowing "PoolNFT" holders to mint lens usernames

Lens is allowing "PoolNFT" holders to mint lens usernames (snapshot was taken at block 14880593, it already passed so you can’t at the moment) But they hinted that when the NFTs reach to 769 ETH goal (516 ETH so far) they will take another snapshot.

This can be a very good opportunity to grab a lens name before public launch [http://mint.pooltogether.com](https://t.co/mYzOrBFB6y). For those that don't know, [@LensProtocol](https://twitter.com/LensProtocol) is a protocol made by [@StaniKulechov](https://twitter.com/StaniKulechov), from Aave. They want to be the backbone of decentralized social media. A smart contract layer so that others can build front end social media web3 UIs.
