The Russian ruble is the official currency of the Russian Federation, and its history can be traced back to the 13th century. Here's a brief history of the ruble: The ruble was first introduced as a currency in the 13th century during the reign of Grand Prince Dmitry Donskoy. It was originally a measure of weight of silver, and it was not until the 18th century that it became an official currency.
