# DotMains - NFT Domain Art

my name is David Awookee (Twitter Handle [David Awookee](https://twitter.com/ExplorerDavid)) & this is my introduction to my NFT Domain Art Project called DotMains (Twitter Handle [DotMains](https://twitter.com/dotmains))

**The Idea:**

The idea behind DotMains is to unite the growing Web3, NFT & Crypto community even more via domains, culture & art. But also to see, how the community will act for their dedicated NFT Culture & Community. Because there will be a burn function for your dedicated DotMain NFTs.

**The Concept:**

Decentralization, Memes, Web3ID's, Trading, Innovation, Ownership , Code and more characterize the everyday life of a Blockchain Nomad. Exactly this diversity shall be expressed by a minimalistic concept of symbols & domains.

**The Community:**

Communities form the nucleus of the entire project wrapped in historical symbols. Without a creative, witty, honest & responsive community no NFT project can be successful. And communities form cultures. And cultures form symbols.

**The History:**

**Full stop** or **point** or **dot**. The most minimal symbol origin started with the ancient greeks - "derives from the Greek punctuation introduced by Aristophanes of Byzantium in the 3rd century bce. In his system, there were a series of dots whose placement determined their meaning."

Nowadays, we all know where this little symbol is used for (just naming a few):

_Ending sentences, after initials, abbreviations, acronyms, mathematics, logic, computing, telegraphy, conversations, linguistics, time and more_

**Domains** and their history. There is no better history webpage than historyofdomains.com (pls proof me wrong). Don’t wanna tell the whole story behind IP, so I focus on Domains.

The arpa top-level domain was the first domain installed in the Domain Name System (DNS) in the 1960’s. “The first connected computers became a requirement to name computers in order to know where information was being sent and received from and form of identification was needed to properly access the various systems.”

Now, based on the Web3, Crypto & NFT Movement (for me ultimately initiated by Satoshi Nakamoto & boosted by Vitalik Buterin) roughly 63 years later, we are using Domains for much more use-cases like Web3 ID / Name, Brand, decentralized Websites & Wallet Address. Minted & connected to the Blockchain, digitally owned by us instead of centralized entities, organizations or governments.

**Check Mark** or just ‘yes, this has been verified, completed or applies to’. Long story short, today, the check mark is some kind of verification for

_this product, item, profile or account is authentic._

Now, Jack Butcher gave the ‘check mark’ symbol via his NFT Project Checks - VV Originals a boost for an art design which was never seen so far. The success of Checks is simply explained by brilliant Art combined with the magic of numbers, smart contracts & community recognition.

**The Merge**

All of the above symbols and events form the **basis of DotMains**. Because only by combining all three entities, cryptographic-based verification can take place. But Art gives verified domains, expression & design. This is DotMains.

There will be 2 kind of NFT collections. 1/1’s & dynamic NFTs. The dynamic NFTs will be deflationary. Means, the original edition can be exchanged for another NFT (with a given burn ratio).

**The Phases**

**_Phase Zer0: Opus_**

Creating 1/1’s for the DotMains Community & beyond. They are not matching to Phase 0ne and won’t extend the Phase 0ne Collection. 1/1’s may have utility or not in the future. Nothing is defined, but ideas are hanging around my head.

**_Phase 0ne: Initium_**

Mint of max. 4800 dynamic DotMains NFTs (Collections can vary based on Minting statistics). Those NFTs could be changed by time, event or community polls.

Each Holder of the first collections will get a free Mint of the unknown collections. This will provide rewards to the early supporter.

**_Phase Two: Mutatio (by burning)_**

The Initium collection is just the beginning of a fantastic NFT experience. A burn function will provide a way to burn your Initium NFT for a new edition at a ratio of 4/1. This new edition will basically content an animated & vector based NFT.

Initially, three new collections are planned (Announcement after 60% mint out of Phase 0ne).
