Reuters: Pennsylvania cryptocurrency mine sued over pollution concerns BlockBeats news, on March 27, CoinDesk reported that according to court documents, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has asked a New York judge to impose a fine of $1.95 billion on Ripple Labs. On Monday, Ripple Labs chief legal officer Stuart Alderoty posted on social media that the SEC had requested such a fine and said that a redacted version of the court documents would be made public on March 26. The SEC's proposal requires the court to order Ripple Labs to pay $876 million in illegal proceeds, $198 million in prejudgment interest, and $876 million in civil penalties, for a total of $1.95 billion.
