# Nothing beats meeting someone face to face.

Reminded me why I even feel in love with doing in-person hackathons and networking sessions in the first place!Guess I understand what that means now. Today marked a significant moment at StartupX as we opened our doors for one of our first in-person events in what feels like forever. The gathering of our HyperScale founders in our office has brought life and energy to everyone. First and foremost, the value of face-to-face interactions became undeniably evident. The depth and richness of conversations were unparalleled. Ideas weren’t just exchanged; they were felt and deeply understood. The nuances of communication, the subtle nods of agreement, the shared moments of enthusiasm — all highlighted the essence of in-person dialogue that’s often lost in the digital realm.HyperScale Demo Day is coming up in Singapore, are you joining?You could tell people were still warming up, but it was fun! The energy of the room was distinctly different too. There was a tangible vibrancy, a unique dynamic that’s challenging to encapsulate within virtual walls. Being physically present with one another fostered a renewed sense of collaboration, camaraderie, and mutual understanding. Smiles were infectious. You could sense the body languages. People truly connected.Been a while since we did an in-person event, but this was fun!We had startups focused on Plastics, Food & Agriculture and Mixed wastes, providing solutions in areas of product redesign, recycling, alternative materials, waste collection, sorting, management, and treatment. It is dizzying but if you are interested in this space, its a goldmine. The spontaneous brainstorming sessions, the organic flow of conversations, and the shared laughter reminded us of the joy of being together physically in one space. At the end of the day, we’re all human beings navigating this journey together. Behind every startup pitch, every innovation, and every business discussion, there’s a person with hopes, dreams, and aspirations. It’s crucial that as we engage, we do so with a foundation of respect, kindness, and empathy.Founders are human after all, and we should help each other as much as we can.I love talking to founders, asking them why they do what they do. How they manage, hire, grow and scale. What kind of challenges they face and how they overcame them. Personal, intimate and reflective. That is something not even ChatGPT can tell you. To hear about their struggles and what they had to go through.
