# Build in Public - The Future of Work?

After sometime at my first job, I felt that I would not be a perfect fit for the role, and my skills could be of much greater use elsewhere. People feel this, days or months after entering an organization. It's like rushing into a relationship, you get to understand the intricacies after the most important decision is made. Countless individuals face a similar dilemma, we prefer to contribute to certain niche areas. With more people preferring to explore different career options and pursue their interest, I imagine the future of work would be completely different. So what if there could be the perfect solution for this?

With Web3 came Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and Decentralized Finance (DeFi). I understand that these are in essence, internet-native organizations without centralized control, the members have ownership of the organization and have a say in decisions made by the organization. The potential of DAOs to embrace change and the rapidity with which decisions are made could be a possible solution to the VUCA environment that we currently live in. Though the concept is still in the nascent stage, it is rapidly gaining popularity, and with it we see the uprising of numerous new DAOs which could potentially change the future landscape of organizations. That said, what about the future of work?

What if individuals could explore different organizations and decide to contribute wherever they want, and whenever they want to? What if people could contribute to multiple organizations, all at the same time, and be rewarded for each and every contribution that they make? This could probably solve the dilemma that individuals face. If I'm a software developer, I don't need to scout for jobs, I don't need to do work which bogs me down. I could enter a DAO, make my contributions wherever I want, and get rewarded for it.

And how would this benefit organizations? Well, they have access to a vast pool of talent which was previously inaccessible. They would have to reward only the individuals who have made contributions. They could easily spot relevant talent and recruit them immediately, without any hassles. And, they would have a self-driven community of highly motivated collaborators who are willing to contribute for the common benefit.

This brings us to the next question. What about the tools to facilitate such collaboration? They should allow unhindered collaboration from a vast community of people. They would have to accurately maintain the contribution by each individual, and facilitate a social platform for contributors to explore relevant projects, paving a path for the future of work. This would allow for boundless collaboration, possibly from millions of individuals, and that I feel would be the true meaning of #buildinpublic.

Imagine what could be possible with this boundless collaboration!!
