So recently, I’ve been pretty active on Farcaster. If you haven’t been on Farcaster, it is basically the web3 version of Twitter.

Anyways, I see a lot of people creating on Farcaster using Zora. They share frames which is a way to mint NFTs directly on the farcaster platform. Zora is basically the Instagram, twitter, tumblr, etc. for web3 creators. You can make NFTs by uploading an image or even using Zora Ai to create an image.

Here is the view of the interface where you can mint NFTs with custom minting capabilities. This is useful for musical artists, cinema makers, etc. Basically this allows for creators to create income based off the content they produce.

Why would someone mint this? Well, it’s free other than gas fees. Gas fees on Zora are very cheap. But the value prop for the user is by creating a fan community. Creators can see who is interacting and minting all their work. Think of the “mint” as a “like” on Instagram. If you like a creators content and interact with them then you’ll have higher chances for rewards and fan experiences. However, with NFTs it is easier to track and reward your fans for their interaction.
