### GAMEPLAY SUMMARY

Duskbreakers combines games, comics, and animation to create a unique and engaging interactive experience. As part of the Duskbreakers Play-to-Mint, you'll take an elevator into space to reach the Dusk, a massive alien starship that has been inactive for millennia. You'll be sending your Breaker all around the ship, directing it to mine for unusual minerals provided by the Dusk and protecting it from the enigmatic alien creatures that live there. The highest score will be on public leaderboards to know who is eligible to mint. Top ranked players have access to mint while the rest will be entered into sweepstakes that will randomly select them to determine their ability to mint.

### OVERALL IMPRESSION

I’m experienced with covering and writing about play-to-earn games and probably most players are familiar with it by now as well. But DuskBreakers introduces a relatively new concept which I think is very innovative, “Play-to-Mint”. You'll be able to play through stages and levels in this model for a shot at an NFT mint if you're lucky. Like a lottery ticket, but beyond that simple register-and-hope system and with a more tangible end in mind. Moreover, what I like about DuskBreakers’ play-to-mint is it adds a distinct flavor to the minting experience.

In my opinion, play-to-mint is a remarkable way for artists and brands to launch their NFT projects in a unique and gamified way. This model doesn’t only add fun to the minting process but it’s also a way to combat botting of the mint. I just hope that the team will ensure fair provenance because on-chain randomness systems have too high of a cost to bear for the community. I think the developers should find a way for their community to check how the selection process will ensure fairness, honesty, and transparency.

Overall, if DuskBreakers can properly pull off the play-to-mint system then they may possibly set a new standard for NFT projects.  You don't need the most ETH in your wallet to win a DuskBreakers NFT; all you need is the time and talent to get to a spot on the leaderboard.
