# How do SNS and ENS differ?

SUI Name Service (SUI NS) and Ethereum Name Service (ENS) are both decentralized domain name services (DNS) that aim to provide a decentralized alternative to traditional DNS services. However, there are some key differences between the two:

1. Blockchain Platform: SUI NS is built on the SUI blockchain, while ENS is built on the Ethereum blockchain. This means that SUI NS uses the same secure and transparent methods for data storage and management as the rest of the SUI platform, while ENS uses the same methods as the Ethereum blockchain.

2. Interoperability: SUI NS plans to be interoperable with other blockchain networks, this means that users can use their SUI NS domains on any other blockchain networks that support it. ENS only support domains on Ethereum blockchain.

3. Registration Process: Both SUI NS and ENS have decentralized registration process, but SUI NS allows for the usage of decentralized identity on the domain name registration process and eliminates the need for a centralized registrar.

4. Functionality: While both services allow users to register and manage human-readable domain names that can be used to access decentralized resources on the blockchain, ENS has also an additional functionality called "Name Bidding", where users can bid on domain names that are currently unclaimed.

In summary, SUI Name Service and Ethereum Name Service are both decentralized domain name services that aim to provide a decentralized alternative to traditional DNS services, but they differ in the blockchain platform, interoperability and functionality. ENS is one of the most known and established DNS services in the blockchain space, but SUI Name Service brings its own features and vision.
