#### Convert 20% of ENS DAO’s USDC to Glo Dollar

A proposal is under consideration to convert **20% of ENS DAO’s USDC holdings** into Glo Dollar (USDGLO). This initiative supports Web3 public goods funding at no additional cost, aligning treasury strategy with social impact goals. By leveraging Glo Dollar, ENS DAO can contribute to charitable initiatives while maintaining fiscal responsibility. [Join the discussion](https://discuss.ens.domains/t/temp-check-convert-20-of-ens-daos-usdc-holdings-to-glo-dollar-usdglo-to-fund-web3-public-goods-at-no-cost/19667).

* * *

### **About Proposals**

Proposals are the means by which changes are made to the status quo. There are two types of proposals:

1. **Social Proposals**: Offchain proposals seeking the DAO’s agreement on social considerations that cannot be enforced onchain.

2. **Executable Proposals**: Onchain proposals that execute code related to the ENS Protocol and ENS DAO smart contracts, as voted on by the DAO.

**Proposal Threshold**: A minimum of 10k $ENS is required to submit social proposals, while 100k $ENS is needed for executable proposals.

### ENS Labs Updates

ENS Labs is actively advancing development across key areas. Minor updates to the **L2 reverse registry smart contracts** are ongoing, with continued work on refining the overall design. Progress on **ENSv2**, also known as **Namechain**, remains steady as efforts focus on smart contract development and a reimagined **manager app**. Additionally, a front-end redesign of the **manager app** is in progress, which includes improvements such as an enhanced **dark mode**experience. For those interested in tracking the ENSv2 work, further details can be found in the [verifiable factory repository](https://github.com/ensdomains/verifiable-factory).

In parallel, two new **ERC proposals** have been introduced by **jefflau.eth**. The first, [onchain registration of chain identifiers](https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs/pull/669), was authored by yuliyaalexiev, while the second, [chain-specific addresses using ENS](https://github.com/ethereum/EIPs/pull/735), comes from jrudolf. These proposals aim to enhance ENS utility and integration across the Ethereum ecosystem.

On the topic of post-quantum computing, ENS Labs addressed a community question regarding its consideration for **ENSv2**. While post-quantum security remains a critical concern, core L2 and Ethereum teams will lead efforts in this area, as practical implementation is still several years away.

### Service Provider Updates

#### **Wildcard** ([@stevegachau.eth](https://discuss.ens.domains/u/stevegachau.eth) & Sharon Mwaniki)

Wildcard offers a unified platform for managing ENS records across multiple **L2 networks**, enabling users to choose specific chains for record management and optimize transactions. By simplifying record management, Wildcard enhances flexibility and usability for ENS users operating on Layer 2 solutions. More details, including contracts, can be found in their repository: [GitHub - WildcardLabs/superchain-resolver](https://github.com/WildcardLabs/superchain-resolver). For more information, visit their website: [records.xyz](http://records.xyz).

* * *

#### **NameStone (fka Resolver Works)** ([@slobo.eth](https://discuss.ens.domains/u/slobo.eth))

NameStone takes a developer-focused approach to issuing **ENS subnames** on Layer 2 networks. Their new product, [Durin](https://durin.dev/), enables onchain L2 subname issuance in approximately 7 minutes using modifiable templates. Currently, NameStone supports deployments on **5 Sepolia chains** and **Base mainnet**, with plans to expand further. To date, the platform has achieved 80 deployments and registered 280 names. Additional resources, including documentation, contracts, and architecture details, can be accessed via [GitHub](https://github.com/).

* * *

#### **Namespace** ([@cap](https://discuss.ens.domains/u/cap))

Namespace has begun building a user-friendly front-end to simplify subname management, subscriptions, resolver configurations, and API key usage. This effort aims to streamline ENS processes for a broader user base. In addition to development updates, Namespace has published an article exploring ENS scaling challenges, which can be shared and read on [x.com](http://x.com). For more information, visit their website: [namespace.tech](http://namespace.tech).

* * *

#### **Unruggable** ([@Premm.eth](https://discuss.ens.domains/u/premm.eth) & [@clowes.eth](https://discuss.ens.domains/u/clowes.eth))

Unruggable is expanding ENS use cases beyond identity data by introducing new functionalities such as developer scores, onchain balances, and voting power. They have developed security features, including guards for enhanced data protection and queryable records. A key update is the proposed **ENSIP Hooks**, which enable secure resolution of onchain data through ENS records. An example includes resolving ENS token votes via specialized text records, with further details available on their [ENSIP GitHub](https://github.com/nxt3d/ENSIP-ideas). A demo is also provided via [hooks-demo](https://github.com/unruggable-labs/hooks-demo). Looking forward, Unruggable is exploring resolver-specific protocols for horizontally scaling ENS across networks like Base and investigating use cases involving **zk technology**.

* * *

#### **ENS Rent** ([@alextnetto.eth](https://discuss.ens.domains/u/alextnetto.eth) & Lucas from Blockful)

ENS Rent introduces a platform that allows users to **rent and list ENS domains**, enabling domain owners to monetize unused assets. The platform distinguishes between manager and owner roles, ensuring that control remains locked until the rental period ends. For clarity, they emphasize the use of the term **“lease”** when referring to renting subnames. ENS Rent originated as a hackathon project and continues to evolve, with contracts available on their [GitHub repository](https://github.com/blockful-io/ens-rent-contracts). Learn more on their website: [ens.rent](http://ens.rent).

### Grantee Update: Firefly

Firefly achieved significant progress during Devcon, particularly in device scaling and community engagement. The team successfully assembled and flashed **hundreds of devices** for the event and is now focused on improving and scaling the **flashing process** to streamline future batches.

Community interest in Firefly was overwhelming, with [**@ricmoo**](https://discuss.ens.domains/u/ricmoo) delivering two talks that drew significant attention from attendees. The positive reception has led to plans for another **batch order of 500 devices**. Additionally, Firefly aims to initiate **community drops** starting next year across various cities. To prioritize user privacy and avoid doxxing risks, the team prefers to **deliver devices in person** instead of collecting addresses.
