# Next Station, Mumbai By [ETHMumbai](https://paragraph.com/@ethmumbai-2) · 2023-09-18 --- This article will briefly contain ideas for ETHMumbai, MIP i.e. Mumbai In Progress, working areas, and rough plan for continuous building (just like Mumbai). ETHMumbai --------- Ethereum and EVM has been one of the most significant innovations to blockchain, technology, as well as, culture—because of ETHGlobal, and the spinoffs worldwide. Increased number of ETHGlobal conferences has led to many local groups organising hackathons and conferences for and by themselves, and this is the first motive for [ETHMumbai](https://twitter.com/ETHMumbai)—Build from Mumbai, for the world. There are many questions to this, starting with why? I will answer them later in this article. MIP --- [MIP-1](https://lu.ma/mip1) i.e. first edition of Mumbai In Progress, will take place in October. MIP-2 will take place in November, MIP-3 in December and so on. This is a co-working day, open to everyone in Mumbai, to meet and work together, create and complete tasks which will lead us to ETHMumbai. To be as clear as possible, this is not a meetup, not a mixer, not a workshop. To maintain credible neutrality (more in detail later), this will be hosted in public spaces—not any individual’s office—with essential needs for work including charging ports, and WiFi. Working areas ------------- In initial days, MIP will significantly focus on ETHMumbai, and with time, it will be also dedicated to Running Bitcoin (more in detail soon), [FarCon India](https://twitter.com/farconindia) (more in detail soon), and new ideas that have available resources. ETHMumbai will form a team of 8-12 people, depending on the individual’s skills, prior work experience and availability. Individuals in this team will each take charge of an area to work upon: Finance, Design, Frontend, Backend, Social, Marketing, Participant Experience, and Partners. There is room to evolve and change for each of the ideas mentioned above. Continuous building ------------------- Zoom out, the bigger picture is to build technology. MIP will have the scope to build in more than one way—with Running Bitcoin and FarCon India already mentioned. There is one goal to measure results: Net positive. ETHMumbai will have an independent team, and at all times, there will be distribution of power, resources, and responsibility. This allows it to grow beyond the initial ideas, and be organised by completely separate teams over the years. In a more decentralised world, there will be many hackathons and conferences, including nation-wide, state-wide, city-wide and even among specific groups. ETHMumbai is a part of this and there is room for many more. ### How can I work on it too? It’s fairly simple and kinda not. Be a part of MIP as and when you can, this will be a starting point to cultivate ideas, prepare a public progress tracking board, and choose a working area. Every working area is important and thus a unique value addition to the team will result in quick execution and a missing working area would take a bit more time. However, Mumbai is a diverse city by all means, and I’m sure every person we need to build ETHMumbai is here. ### When is it happening? Excited, right? In brief, the team will work in a 12-week epoch i.e. a time period of 3 months and 3 editions of MIP. Most optimistic (not ideal) scenario is execution in 2 epochs. The finish line will be much clearer after MIP-1 and a public progress tracking board. ### For interested groups Working team for ETHMumbai will be individuals only. They will create and complete tasks for their working area and in case the task involves groups or projects, they will connect with you.
