There are several key functions of management, which include: Planning: setting goals and objectives, and developing strategies and plans to achieve them Organizing: arranging resources and creating structures to support the organization's goals Leading: motivating and directing employees to work towards the organization's goals Controlling: monitoring progress and making adjustments as needed to ensure goals are met Management can take place at different levels within an organization, such as: Strategic management: top-level management that sets the overall direction and scope of the organization Tactical management: middle-level management that develops specific plans to support the organization's strategic goals Operational management: front-line management that is responsible for day-to-day operations and decision making There are several different management theories and approaches, such as classical management, human relations management, and systems management. Each one has its own unique perspective on how organizations should be managed, and they all have different advantages and disadvantages. Effective management requires a combination of skills, such as leadership, problem-solving, communication, and strategic thinking. It also requires an understanding of the industry, the organization, and the external environment in which the organization operates.
