Help us improve!
----------------

These are early days for Inspect. As such, we know that not everything will work perfectly just yet. We’ll be relying on you, our Alpha Inspectors, to help us improve!

**The NFT in the popup is not the same as the one you clicked?**

Please click the “Incorrect Match? Click here” button under the popup image. This sends real-time feedback for our team to use to improve our matching algorithm.

**An image that you know is an NFT is not rendering with an overlay as expected?**

Most likely we are missing the collection. We only add collections that have reached a certain threshold of sales volume. You can take a look at the list of currently supported collections (as of today) for both [Ethereum](https://dpaste.org/Njr5/slim) and [Solana](https://dpaste.org/OSz3/slim). Still, we’d love to know what collections are missing. Please add this collection in the [#missing-collections](https://discord.com/channels/926993467828232212/938291674482888715) channel in our Discord, and we’ll try our best to get it included.

Another common cause is that the owner made some modifications, like adding a hat or a sweatshirt, to their NFT. These sorts of modifications make it hard for our image matching software to recognize the correct NFT.

**Post reveal collection not being detected?**

We have not yet automated reveal refresh. Instead, we’ll need to refresh the metadata for a given collection manually. Please let us know that a collection requires a metadata refresh in [#missing-collections](https://discord.com/channels/926993467828232212/938291674482888715) and we’ll kick it off ASAP.

**Popup statistics are incorrect?**

As of today, we pull Ethereum real-time statistics from Opensea and Looksrare. For Solana, from MagicEden and Solens. This means that if the last sale took place on another marketplace then we will, unfortunately, have incorrect data. We’re actively working on more robust solutions! In the meantime, please share any instance of incorrect data in the [#issues](https://discord.com/channels/926993467828232212/926997952105422918) channel of our Discord, and help us get it right.

**Missing information?**

No rarity calculated when you know the collection has traits? Floor stats or other collection statistics missing? This is most likely a bug. Please share in the [#issues](https://discord.com/channels/926993467828232212/926997952105422918) channel of our Discord so we can take a look!

**UI bug?**

These are no fun. We want to fix these as soon as possible. Please add a screenshot of the issue to the [#issues](https://discord.com/channels/926993467828232212/926997952105422918) channel of our Discord, and we will prioritize a fix.

**Other general feedback?**

We want to hear from you! Please share any general feedback in the [#general-feedback](https://discord.com/channels/926993467828232212/926997952105422918) channel of our Discord.

**Feature request?**

Go ahead and add your wildest dreams to the [#feature-requests](https://discord.com/channels/926993467828232212/926997916768403476) channel. We want to make this a product which is driven by the community so we’ll be prioritizing items with the most interest. Let’s improve Inspect together 😊

FAQ
---

**What is this?**

Inspect is a chrome extension that improves your NFT discovery journey. We augment your Twitter experience by making NFT info readily accessible for any NFT you come across.

**How is this different from Twitter verified pfps?**

For now, our focus is on discovery, not verification. We make it easy for you to learn more about the NFTs you come across regardless of where they appear. There are a few core differences:

* Coverage - Twitter pfp verification only includes Ethereum NFTs on OpenSea. We’re cross chain - cross marketplace and always expanding coverage.

* Location - Twitter pfp verification is only on pfps. We cover any NFT you come across including pfps, in feed images, even sidebar images.

* Info - Twitter pfp verification takes a few clicks to show only a small amount of static info – and only for the minority of people who have verified their pfp with TwitterBlue. With one click, we surface computed metrics like rarity and real time stats on collections, floors, volumes, sales, and much more on the way – for all NFTs on your feed.

* Community - Twitter pfp verification is a partnership between two web2 companies. We’re a native, web3, community-driven startup - focused on evolving based on community feedback.

* Cost - Twitter pfp verification is only accessible for TwitterBlue paid subscribers. We’re intentionally inclusive, available to anyone in the community.

**Is it safe?**

* Not if you’re trying to limit your screen time! Otherwise, yes :) The Inspect extension doesn’t require wallet connect, it can’t view or change anything within your wallet, it can’t track your Twitter activity, and it doesn’t have any way to view any user information.

* All Chrome extensions go through a Chrome Store review and audit to check for security exploitations before being approved. As always though, don’t take it from us! For those who can, we highly encourage you to poke around the extension front facing code - Let us know if you find ways to improve!

**Do I need to connect my wallet?**

Absolutely not. This doesn’t require any wallet information from you or anyone else for that matter.

**How is rarity rank calculated?**

* We use an approach called Jaccard Distance. This measures the overlap between two finite sets of traits. The higher the overlap, the lower the Jaccard distance, the less rare. By understanding the similarities across all the NFTs in a collection, we can gauge how rare an NFT is.

* This means that our rarity calculation will sometimes differ from the rarity ranking provided by the official project - if they have it.

* For some collections, this works super well and is spot on. For other collections with a lot of traits, each NFT may seem more rare than it is, and Jaccard Distance will not be super accurate. We’re still tweaking this!

**What use cases are you expecting?**

We’re hoping you’ll tell us how you find Inspect most useful! A couple that come to mind thus far:

1. Did a celeb recently pick up an NFT? Are you nosey like us? Now you have a super easy way to check how rare it is and how much they paid for it.

2. See an NFT with a trait you like? One click and you can easily figure out what the property is.

3. Come across an NFT you’ve never seen before? Direct access to learn more about the collection and get in early. Thanks for the alpha info!

4. Is this giveaway a sham or legit? Inspect and you can get some helpful signal. Seems unlikely that somebody’s giving away an NFT that last sold for 100eth in exchange for a single retweet, especially because it’s owned by a name not remotely associated with the Twitter profile doing the giveaway 😅

**Why wasn’t this NFT picked up/identified?**

* It’s not in our database - Right now, we’re only picking up collections that have a certain amount of volume. We’ll lower these thresholds and expand over time – but let us know in the Discord what we’re missing!

* They made custom modifications - We’re only picking up exact or near exact matches. If a new background, some sunglasses, or a signature was added, we won’t be able to pick it up.

**Why was the wrong NFT identified?**

* There’s a handful of reasons why we may mess up the match, and we’re working on improving this every day.

* Oftentimes we don't have the actual NFT in our database, so what you’re seeing is the next closest match. Other times, our matching algorithm gets things wrong. We want to be notified of these so we can continue to improve on corner cases, use the #issues channel with a link to the Tweet and the NFT it should be matched to.

**Who are you people???**

We’re @oaklynking and @nootrality. Our team is in the process of closing out and leaving current roles at a major FAANG, so we can’t be fully doxxed just yet. Check back for some LinkedIn stalking opportunities in the next couple weeks 😉

**How do I ensure I’m in the alpha group?**

Send our team (via [Twitter](https://twitter.com/nftinspect) or Discord DM) your Discord name#1234 and the email associated with your Chrome store. We’ll then grant you the “Alpha Inspector” role in Discord and add you to the #alpha-inspectors channel!
