In our latest roundup, we're excited to share some fresh updates about the ongoing developments at OmniFlix. So, without further ado, here are the highlights…1) Protocol EngineeringThe past week, the focus was on StreamPay, a key module in the execution of the FlixDropThis module is independent of the interact-to-claim (ITC) module and facilitates the time-based transfer of tokens from one account to the other. This can be referred to as streaming payments and hence the name of the module, StreamPayTokens received from the payment stream should be claimed by the receiver to access them as liquid tokens for staking, LPing or even collecting NFTs on OmniFlix.marketFuture use cases involve integration with streaming platforms where video or audio content that is streamed utilizes StreamPay to access content (pay-per-second) or to support creators/communities with payment-streamsCheck out the StreamPay repository here.Quick overview of how the FlixDrop works:Users that received the NFTs indicated as eligible can first check them on their OmniFlix.market accountsFor the claim user to claim the FLIX tokens, these NFTs will have to be burnt as a part of the campaign launched via the interact-to-claim (ITC) module.Once claimed, tokens are streamed instead of being dropped instantly. This means that, depending on when the claim was initiated, tokens are streamed block by block.NOTE: Do not burn your NFTs to claim FLIX right now, as the claim process will be released on testnet first for eligible holders to test the claim process and then get deployed to mainnet via get released on mainnet. Below is the plan for this batch of delegations:Tranche 1 (May 2023)Genesis validatorsNon-genesis validatorsValidators joined after April 19th, 2023: Delegation based on value add.Tranche 2 (May/June 2023 - Technical Delegation Grants)Grants in this tranche are primarily for technical contributors i.e. for node hosts that run Relayers, run testnet nodes, run full node hosts, host snapshot services, faucets, apps, tools, dashboards, etc.Delegations awarded are based on contribution. An awesome repository will be created on the OmniFlix GitHub organization for contributors to post/publish their contributions.This will help the community understand the nature of contribution by the node host and increase transparency around the grants process.Tranche 3 (June 2023 - Non-technical Delegation Grants)Non-technical contributors are the teams/individuals that utilized the OmniFlix infrastructure or have contributed in ways other than writing code or building/deploying an app.This includes use of NFTs, community involvement via chat, governance participation, organizing IRL events for the OmniFlix Network, representation at various conferences, participation in Twitter Spaces & more.Highlights of the programTotal Budget for this batch is ~30M FLIX across the 3 tranches put togetherFair distribution of delegations across different tranches based on involvement pre & post token launch.Recognition for early supporters (Genesis validators) and new contributors.Delegations will be reviewed quarterly to verify and update the community around the status of contributions and/or maintenance.The Foundation believes that this is an inclusive approach being employed to ensure non-technical contributors are also acknowledged.The program demonstrates OmniFlix’s commitment to building a thriving and collaborative ecosystem.In future, the decision around delegations will be moved to a subDAO that can manage related operations.For exact details and any additional information, please do not hesitate to let us know in the mainnet-validator Discord Channel.
