# Preparing for the big change

We have a lot to cover here. We will discuss about the launch of the Fructo Token, why we are renaming it to Fructoland Token and why we are renaming the whole organization to Fructoland.

About the name change
=====================

As you probably know from our last [blog post](https://mirror.xyz/0xcec6D12D409aF9afE7aa280f37AF0d7Ef2fC9175/NcLUfZra3mw5BkuaeXg7AfQv9G3cGBNSLTIVtORX9_A), we are moving to the DAO model. This puts some obstacles in front of us.

1.  My team and I are based in Romania. In Romania, DAO is not a legal entity. It’s a little bit in the grey area, and creating a legal NGO will be quite costly and complicated.
    
2.  Since we can’t create a DAO, every Fructoland member is legally liable. This can put not the organisation, but every member at risk.
    
3.  This is why we are renaming Fructo to Fructoland. We did some more research and we found out that Fructo is a name already taken by [an ukrainian company](https://www.fructo.com.ua/). We are renaming Fructo tot Fructoland to avoid any possible lawsuit. We can never be too careful. We don’t want any of our members to be put at risk for just being a member.
    

We will stick to this model until we can find a solution. Suggestions from the community are welcome.

But there is an upside - since every member is legally liable for the actions of Fructoland, decisions will be made more carefully.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk about the token.

About the token
---------------

The Fructoland Token (FRLND) will not have a max supply. Instead we are going to mint new ones to people that contribute to Fructoland and it’s projects.

We are also going to choose 5 random people from our [Discord server](https://discord.gg/DXKe9aSZh6) to hold some tokens, and also to our team. Since we can’t vote on things related to money, we will vote on development decisions on Fructoland.

An initial 500 tokens will be minted and will be distributed as follows:

*   25 to each 5 random Discord server members
    
*   125 to each current member of Fructoland
    

Here are a few ways to earn Fructoland Tokens:

1.  Contributing to source code - 1 FRLND/contribution
    
2.  Promoting on social media - 0.5 FRLND/publication
    

This way we can motivate people to help the development of Fructoland.

Claiming those tokens will be done through a verification process through mail. It is recommended to claim all tokens at once to process the claiming faster.

Keep in mind that this list is not final and will be periodically updated on our [governance page](https://fructo.land/governance).
