Born to serve **Enterprise demands**, Unification has forged a unique place in the **technology landscape**.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

> \*Since the genesis of Unification in 2017, we’ve often revisited the questions of not only what we do, but why. Now with the launch of the new [_Unification site_](https://unification.com/) to encompass all these details together, we once again ask the question: \*\*\*\*“Why Unification?”\*\*\*

As the \*\*Blockchain industry \*\*continues to mature, our product suite has evolved to serve these growing needs.

Fundamentally, the **Unification Blockchain Toolkit** comprises two core branches: **Blockchain Business products**, to welcome traditional enterprises into the **Web3 economy**; and **Permissionless Products**, an **open-access toolkit** to power and **enrich Dapps** on **Ethereum/EVM networks**.

Unification’s advantage is found between the rock and the hard place of **traditional business** and the **Wild West of Web3**.

We simultaneously, “speak the language” of enterprise, while integrating **cutting-edge Web3 innovations**. Our product offerings are proudly designed upon the principles of: **decentralization, rapidly deployability, multi-chain service, permissionless integration, and pure Web3 payments**.

The table below summarizes Unification’s unique alignment of values and feature set.

**Unification vs. Oracle and IBM**
----------------------------------

Blockchains can be understood as **decentralized databases**.

Similarly to companies such as Oracle and IBM, Unification provides **enterprise database technologies**. While both models are established as **efficient and secure**, some fundamental differences can be seen. In contrast to Oracle and IBM, Unifications database tools are **rapidly-deployed and decentralized**.

As no long business development cycles are required, **deployment is highly efficient**. As the database tools are maintained by a validators, they are **decentralized — immutable and immune from censorship** or alteration by any individual party.

Specifically, the two relevant products here are [**WRKChains**](https://unification-10a084.webflow.io/blockchain-business) and [**Beacons**](https://unification-10a084.webflow.io/blockchain-business).

‍**WRKChains** are **semi-private consortium blockchains** that serve a group of entities that need to be held accountable to one another. **Verification proofs** are provided externally through **time-stamping of blocks** to Unification’s Mainnet.

**Beacons** provide **immutability and tamper-resistance** to an existing database by **time-stamping the database** to the Unification Mainnet for public record. Beacon developers can provide tools to **verify the integrity** of the database.

**Unification vs. Chainlink**
-----------------------------

Unification and Chainlink are **Blockchain Oracle providers**.

Both organizations serve price feeds of **on-chain and off-chain assets**, making them accessible to **Web3 Dapps and smart contracts**. Points of difference can be seen in the tracked assets, customizability, and accessibility. While there is significant overlap, there are differences in the assets tracked by Unification and Chainlink.

\*\*Unification’s \*\*[**Oracle of Oracles**](https://unification-10a084.webflow.io/ooo) also offers **customizable control** — developers can pull in price feeds for **any qualifying asset** without requiring manual updates. Finally, **Oracle of Oracles is open-access** — the toolkit can be access by any developer, Dapp, or smart contract, **permission-lessly**, without forms, biz dev calls, or logins.

**Unification vs. Alchemy, Infura, Moralis, and Quicknode**
-----------------------------------------------------------

**Nodes** are a critical component of **Dapp infrastructure**, to interface with the blockchain.

Incumbent node operators include Alchemy, Infura, Moralis, and Quicknode. These companies provide **essential infrastructure to developers and Dapps**. They do however embody a vulnerability in the technology stack of **decentralized apps** — centralization.

A majority of Dapps depend on just four node providers, with over 70% of top **Ethereum applications** run on just one of these. Many are also permissioned and identifiable — requiring card payments by Dapps; tracking could potentially be turned on at any point.

[**Unification’s UNODE**](https://unification.com/unode) addresses this Achilles’ Heel, by **democratizing, decentralizing, and incentivizing** **EVM node operations**. In accordance with our ethos, this will be\* \***pure Web3**.

Unification in 2023
-------------------

Unification’s strength lies in its tools, and expertise in deployment of these tools within the encompassing blockchain architecture, as demonstrated in the work with our [**Partners**](https://unification.com/partners).

It is for this reason that Unification continues to thrive as the leader in permissionless tools for the current and future generations of Blockchain technology. We remain an **unbiased, truly permissionless engine** and will continue to forge the path for this.

Standing on the heels of all the work in the last five years, 2023 will be an exciting year for Unification and our partners!
