This is for Mom. I hope you can find this message someday. Maybe not today. Let’s see if I can even publish it. “This blood is thicker than the water of the womb”. Stair-parents do not have an easy job. They step in and start bonding, right after a hugely traumatic experience that no one has truly processed, even years and years later. But they are in love. God is love. It’s God who leads these peoples’ hands to help in others’ lives. My Mom, my real mom, not be confused with the other one, makes the best pasta salad. You will never measure up. I can’t either, I’ve tried. It’s something about how it’s done, that changes the flavors. But if you want to catch fish in the shape of orangered 3 year olds, pasta salad can and should be eaten on the porch. Then, after only a few moments, we’re in love forever. She was raised by wolves. This is a topic we undoubtedly understand each other on regularly. Trauma has a way of tattooing its spot on your heart and mind. Hers is the only singing voice I’ve never really heard, that I guarantee is on par with Kelly. Wedding Singer is a legit movie. I have heard it actually, when she’s singing in Church. I can trust her, I just haven’t let myself do it 100%. She seeks that trust from other kids who need a community. I will gladly sacrifice any time she’d be worried about me, so those kids can get just a little more from her. She probably doesn’t understand my endless turmoil the same way I understand a little about hers. Mine is wrapped up in everything that happened after the 80s, but I’m certain she may need help breaking through loops too. In the end, all I mean to say, with conviction, and without a doubt, is I love you, Mom <3 I miss you today, even more than all the other days.
