Held at Beeple Studios in Charleston, South Carolina, on August 10, the event featured insightful talks, community art showcases, and live art performances. Attendees delved into the origins and cultural impact of Pepe the Frog, with opportunities to win various "badass prizes" throughout the day.

PepeFest 2024 was split into two parts: the Day Event from 12pm to 4pm, featuring speakers, art showcases, competitions, and interactive installations, and the Night Event from 8pm to 12pm, including more competitions, artist showcases, and a live "Everyday" performance by Beeple. Tickets were free for Pepe Coin holders, those with Rare Pepe, Pepe Editions, Replicator NFTs, or Beeple/Beeple Collaboration NFTs, who received two non-transferable tickets per wallet or NFT. Non-holders could join a waitlist or participate in social media giveaways and art competitions for a chance to attend. Free shuttles within Charlotte were available for attendees.

Adidas and Doodles Team Up for Exclusive Virtual and Physical Swag Packs

Sportswear giant Adidas has partnered with the Ethereum NFT collection Doodles to offer limited-edition virtual swag packs, available for purchase until August 16. Each collectible pack, priced at $4.99, includes two items, with bundles ranging from $8.49 to $374.99 depending on the number of packs. These packs also include physical collectibles like the Deysi Tracksuit and Superstar Shoes, featuring Deysi, the digital mascot from Pharrell Williams and Coi Leray’s new song “Not in the Store.” Only 200 items of each physical collectible are available.

Doodles, an Ethereum NFT-based project with 10,000 generative profile pictures created by Scott “Burnt Toast” Martin, continues to innovate under the direction of Pharrell Williams, the project’s chief brand officer. Recently, Doodles launched DoodlesTV, a membership service providing exclusive access to music videos and other content via NFT access passes sold on the Ethereum layer-2 scaling network, Base. The project’s upcoming animated film “Dullsville and the Doodleverse” and its accompanying soundtrack are part of the broader strategy to merge virtual and physical worlds, enhancing the Doodles brand’s value and reach.

Zora Bringing Secondary Markets Onchain: Enhancing Creator and Collector Experiences

Zora has revolutionized the secondary market experience for creators and collectors with its latest protocol upgrade, bringing secondary markets onchain with Uniswap. This innovation addresses the challenges posed by offchain secondary marketplaces, such as fragmentation, low liquidity, and the abandonment of creator royalties. By integrating Uniswap, Zora provides a seamless and permissionless market where collectors can buy and sell digital content even after the minting period ends.
