# Start being while doing

When testing user growth, we often find that the results fall short of our expectations. In this case, in addition to not saying negative things and spreading negative emotions, you should actively push forward the next step. As we said before, we are prepared for the failure of the project before we start the project, so we should be sure of what to do next. At this time, we need to adopt a positive attitude, always focus on the things we can change, grow from failure, so that we can quickly start a positive cycle of growth. When I first read The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People more than a decade ago, the book hit me hard. Recently, I participated in the training related to the seven habits. The shock is still great, and I also have a deeper understanding of the seven habits. There are so many things that we pay attention to in our lives and at work that are within our circle of attention. But there are only a small number of things that we can change, things that fall within our circle of influence. Most of the time, we unconsciously worry and worry about the things in the circle of concern, consuming a lot of energy and effort, which makes us unable to change the things in the circle of influence, resulting in less and less things we can change, trapped in a vicious circle. If we keep our energy focused in our circle of influence, this energy is positive energy, which expands our circle of influence and allows us to do more and more important things.

If we constantly focus our energy on the circle of attention, this energy is negative energy, which shrinks our circle of influence and makes us less and less influential. So staying focused on the long term, focusing on what we can change to help us achieve our goals, not letting the things in our focus circle distract us, and staying focused on improving our effectiveness is doing right. Many of us had a dream of changing the world when we were little. But as we grow older, our circle of concern expands and our worries increase, we gradually lose sight of our original purpose. In fact, it is not so difficult to change the world, as long as we can calmly accept what we cannot change, always try to change what we can change, we will be able to change the world. We are part of the world ourselves, and it is always possible to change ourselves if you want to. So, changing the world starts with changing yourself. The concept of mindfulness, as you probably know, is to focus on the present moment, on our own existence. More explanations of mindfulness can be found on the Internet, but I won't go there. In this section, I'd like to share how to bring a mindfulness perspective to work so that the work itself can bring us happiness and satisfaction. Because of the nature of the user growth effort, many growth test failures have a continuing negative impact. If in the user growth, just rely on strength to support themselves, the work itself is a kind of consumption, that sooner or later will not persist. User growth is challenging, but it's fun. As long as we can focus on the work itself, we can feel the ability to grow in our own body, just like seeing the bud break the ground, we can get great satisfaction from the work. Both the big growth projects and the ones that don't are part of the growth story. If we always focus on the results of growth, ignore ourselves, ignore the growth in the work, don't enjoy the process, don't absorb the energy from the work, then user growth becomes a pyrrhic thing! I also want to emphasize that mindfulness works in a completely different way than what is often referred to as the Buddha department. The Buddhist attitude can be summarized as "whatever", while the way mindfulness works is absolutely called, the goal is absolutely emphasized, the goal is constantly achieved by completing our circle of influence, and the process of achieving the goal is also a process of drawing energy from us. We may have lofty ambitions and have traveled in a hurry all our life, but we must not miss the scenery on the way, which has the feeling of dim sum and tiger sniffing roses. In my team, I advocate "Start being while doing", that is, we should feel our own existence and growth in busy work. This perception is the source of our happiness, so that we can achieve happiness from the heart.
