As we move deeper into 2025, the Greenpill Network is guided by a renewed sense of purpose, clarity, and collective ambition. Reflecting on our journey from 2024, we've grown not just in numbers, but in the depth and strength of our connections. We began the quarter with ambitious plans, from reshaping Chapter onboarding to growing Regen Coordination, and in the past few months we’ve exceeded our goals.

In this update, we're excited to share what has emerged so far and what we’re preparing for in the quarter ahead.

### 🌐 Alignment and Going Onchain

We began the year by slowing down, postponing our [January gathering](https://hub.greenpill.network/t/january-2025-monthly-call/171) to ground ourselves in the lessons of 2024 and take a much needed break. When we returned, we did so with purpose, by centering our attention on [_Izzy Initiatives_](https://app.gardens.fund/gardens/10/0x4200000000000000000000000000000000000042/0x5b1a1dcbf48c0f317102d05d10caa258b9c9d1c5/97): a signaling pool created with Gardens to preserve and advance Izzy’s legacy. Through the hum of activity, a deeper rhythm began to reveal itself. Kevin Owocki [proposed two potential North Stars for 2025](https://hub.greenpill.network/t/bringing-greenpill-network-on-chain-proving-out-revenue-in-2025/172), sparking a lively discussion as members shared their thoughts and ideas.

The tone we set together stirred a creative current across the Network. The Greenpill Dev Guild opened a [brand‑kit contest](https://x.com/gp_dev_guild/status/1897377023049265650) to refresh their visual identity, and launched the first of many [workshop videos](https://www.youtube.com/@GreenpillNet/playlists) and [shorts](https://www.youtube.com/@GreenpillNet/shorts) on YouTube. That momentum continued as [Atlantis](https://www.atlantisp2p.com/) began shaping a [dNFT collection](https://www.atlantislabs.xyz/greenpillnftcollection) that has quickly become a focal point of excitement across the Network.

### 🌱 New Chapters Taking Root

Out of the early season of creative alignment came tangible growth at the Network’s edge, as Greenpill welcomed the first new Chapters since the [onboarding revamp](https://hub.greenpill.network/t/new-chapter-onboarding/129): Cape Town and London, Ontario.

* In Cape Town, this has meant deepening roots in Muizenberg through weekly gatherings, relationship-building with local organizations and place-based regenerative action.

* London, led by the [Institute for Community Sustainability](https://communitysustainability.ca/), brings a wealth of practical experience in circular economy initiatives, including a thriving [Repair Café](https://communitysustainability.ca/repaircafe) program and [Thing Library](https://communitysustainability.ca/thinglibrary).

Both Chapters received the support they needed to embed themselves within the living systems of the Network, with training in tools like Charmverse for collaboration, Karma GAP for impact tracking and Safe{Wallet} Multisigs for treasury management.

In finding their place within the Network, they're helping shape it in return - surfacing what’s working and what still needs tending within the onboarding flow. Their feedback will be used in the Network's ongoing development toward a more permissionless and responsive path for new Stewards.

Tending the Seeds at ETHDenver
------------------------------

As we stepped into February, excitement built for a diverse mix of Greenpill members to gather in Denver for the second time. The Greenpill Dev Guild hosted a [Charmverse Workshop](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1mdcFZsupk&t) providing insights into the platform and how to optimize your workspace. In preparation for ETHDenver, Afo, Matt and Ryan took the lead on logistics: securing a hackerhouse, designing merch, arranging volunteer shifts and coordinating a Greenpill BBQ. Everyone's efforts set the stage for an unforgettable experience for both our members and the wider regen community who stopped by throughout the conference.

### 🏡 Greenpill Hackerhouse

The hackerhouse itself felt like an ecosystem. Quirky antiques mirrored the unique energy of the guests, while meals came together from spontaneous collaborations: chicken pesto by Ryan, Afo’s baked ziti, Heenal's garlic bread, Kit's coffee and a revolving door of shared ingredients and stories. Over a couple weeks 14 different people stayed there and even more visitors brought good vibes with added cross pollination along the way.

When Friday’s BBQ arrived, friends from across the regen space joined us for food and conversation. JT and u/the-a-word from the EVMavericks and [r/ethereum](https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/) prepared a delicious feast. Each guest left with a gift bag packed with Greenpill goodies, including stickers, candy, and the now-iconic Greenpill x [Vrbs](https://vrbs.build/) shirts and hoodies with art created by Vrbs artist [Littlebirth](https://warpcast.com/littlebirth). Everyone also received the Greenpill ETHDenver [POAP](https://collectors.poap.xyz/token/7314201) to commemorate the gathering.

As the event unfolded, we focused on grounding our tech-driven mission in real-world impact. Ryan organized three local service projects: [two shifts](https://lu.ma/mopyxkn5) at [Food Bank of the Rockies](https://www.foodbankrockies.org/) (one of the largest food donors in the U.S) and a [river cleanup](https://lu.ma/q8q9v3vh) with the [Greenway Foundation](https://thegreenwayfoundation.org/).

Food packaging and delivery to local Denver residents

That spirit continued at Schelling Point and the Allo Summoning, where Greenpill members showed up to help tend the space - helping with setup, welcoming guests, sharing materials and tidying up after. These acts of service reminded us that regeneration is not just a concept, it is a daily practice of showing up for one another.

### 📍 Ethereum Localism

![](https://storage.googleapis.com/papyrus_images/88537d1c6e8dd8d8d13b7fc5b844a0fc.png)

Explore the [book](https://greenpill.network/pdf/ethereum-localism.pdf) or dive deeper at [ethereumlocalism.xyz](http://ethereumlocalism.xyz).

That same spirit extended to Boulder, where many of the Greenpill crew attended the [_General Forum on Ethereum Localism (GFEL)_](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsAzoaW_1wL5Nhm21kDKoU5rHKqUEI38-): a space for collective reflection and recalibration at a critical moment for both Ethereum and the regenerative movement.

> "Ethereum is at a crossroads. It can either become another extractive technology or serve as the foundation for a regenerative civilization." - Monty Merlin

The forum centered on four interwoven pillars:

*   **Community-led networks** empowered by Web3 infrastructure.

* **Regenerative finance** designed to distribute resources toward public goods.

* **AI-powered coordination** in service of human and ecological flourishing.

* **Cosmolocal collaboration** enabling bioregions to share governance models while preserving local sovereignty.

[![](https://paragraph.com/editor/youtube/play.png)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT1TuEYxT60)

GFEL served as both a continuation of conversations begun at previous gatherings and a catalyst for the collaborative work that followed at ETHDenver.

[Season 8](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4XWnakUPNM&list=PLF5CNzrKS9sol3VJ6515dXmuPObhRC-pr) of the Greenpill podcast revolves around Ethereum Localism and is hosted by [Ethereal Forrest](https://x.com/EthForestDAO).

### 📅 Conference & Side Events

[![](https://paragraph.com/editor/youtube/play.png)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJPNGEqHXwI)

Following GFEL, the momentum carried into ETHDenver where several key events shaped the regenerative landscape.

The [**Allo DAO Summoning**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dwskf6ssYv0&list=PLLMb0I1RBZ0uCNlql4OCNxNZiDwCteev9) marked a pivotal moment, with a full-day event dedicated to establishing Allo Capital's direction and demoing tools being developed. This milestone opened pathways for further innovation in capital allocation mechanisms and deepened the participatory nature of regenerative funding structures.

[**Allo Capital Fireside Chats**](https://x.com/syntropicregen/status/1896572475414306937)

Though ETHDenver 2025 adopted "Year of the Regenerates" as its tagline, initial programming lacked regenerative content. When Kevin Owocki and others highlighted this gap on the eve of the conference, organizers swiftly responded by creating a [regen stage](https://x.com/gkimbwala/status/1895987865248837744) and the community rallied impressively, curating an outstanding lineup of speakers and presentations in remarkably short order.

Further side events, including Gitcoin's long-running [Schelling Point](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdrv8JlUzD0&list=PLvTrX8LNPbPmU967NkHwuMdXhqEG-YYW_) and events organized by Unlock, Hats Protocol, Regen Network, V DAO and [Govern\[init\]](https://lu.ma/cxig1dlp?tk=OHDEi1), reinforced the vibrancy of the ecosystem. These gatherings highlighted the remarkable people driving regenerative innovations and the quality of community-organized spaces.

----------------------------------

![](https://storage.googleapis.com/papyrus_images/8deeb78db77d019dc452e0932766b02e.png)

As March unfolded, the momentum from ETHDenver settled into steady, system-building work. The Greenpill Dev Guild wrapped up its brand‑kit contest, receiving [thirteen outstanding submissions](https://snapshot.box/#/s:greenpilldevguild.eth/proposal/0x680f076613fb1c52964ce1d6e063c59c6efa3755b8f0d07db0007d4b5f32b5b9), all now available for Chapters to utilize. Additionally the Dev Guild hosted a [multisig workshop](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojJ8a5Ma_r4) filled with practical tips for optimizing your Safe{Wallet}. We also opened up the Network Sync to all Stewards, sparking even greater collaboration across the Network.

### 🐝 A Common Approach

The [Regen Coordination efforts of 2024](https://www.regencoordination.xyz/Regen-Coordination-Genesis-GG21-11a2e7251f2f80c98b8ceee0b571b9ff) showed how powerful distributed action can be. But it also highlighted a gap: without a shared framework for impact accounting, it’s difficult to track what’s working across such a broad and diverse network.

To that end, Regen Coordination [began using](https://www.regencoordination.xyz/guidance-regen-coordination-impact-reporting) the [Common Impact Data Standard (CIDS)](https://www.commonapproach.org/common-impact-data-standard/), a unified schema for measuring project activity and outcomes. Multiple onboarding workshops offered in English, Portuguese and Spanish helped our global community adopt CIDS and report their progress on Karma GAP.

Gitcoin website showcasing community rounds

Across the Network, community-led Gitcoin rounds emerged as vibrant expressions of local initiative and collective intent:

* [**Regen Rio**](https://explorer.gitcoin.co/#/round/42220/30): Greenpill Brasil showcased local initiatives from Rio de Janeiro, bringing grassroots impact into the wider regen space.

* [**Web3 Universities**](https://explorer.gitcoin.co/#/round/42220/27): Karla, Princewill and B<>rder/ess Developers, provided funding to African universities to expand Web3 programs and campus hubs.

* [**DeSci Community Round**](https://explorer.gitcoin.co/#/round/42220/28): Hosted by Swift Evo, Maria and the DeSci Working Group, this round supported projects advancing decentralized science.

* [**Gardens Round**](https://1hive-gardens.notion.site/Gitcoin-Grants-Garden-GG23-1b6d6929d0148057ab81c0dbee6475ba): Paul, Afo and Coi launched a Gardens-powered round, open through early May, inviting members to propose and vote on treasury allocations.

To everyone who contributed to Gitcoin and community-led rounds, thank you! Your support doesn’t just fund initiatives, it helps us grow a more resilient and responsive ecosystem

Looking Ahead
-------------

[![](https://paragraph.com/editor/youtube/play.png)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-7I8YqN6hA)

As roots deepen and connections strengthen, the upcoming quarter will focus on new tools and methods of coordination.

### 🌻 Coordination Growth

Without shared structures for reflection and feedback, even the most vibrant ecosystems can struggle to see where they are thriving and where they need support. We’ve created a [short community survey](https://forms.gle/4N1Jz7y4tujE96oU8) to learn how both new and longtime members would like to contribute.

As [GG23](https://explorer.gitcoin.co/#/round/42220/31) winds down, our attention has turned toward strengthening our internal coordination:

* A [proposal](https://hub.greenpill.network/t/protocol-amendment-rebrand-the-greenpill-hub-into-the-regen-coordination-forum/203) is live to relaunch the Greenpill hub as a central Regen Coordination hub, streamlining conversations and resources.

* The Writers Guild [forged deeper ties](https://explorer.gitcoin.co/#/round/42161/867/128) with Carbon Copy, and in an effort to support the [Local ReFi Toolkit](https://www.regencoordination.xyz/local-refi-toolkit) we will be creating a series of articles exploring how ReFi communities are using Web3 tooling.

* At the same time, the Regen Coordination Council is formalizing its structure by establishing a regular call cadence and building a shared workspace to streamline operations.
