# Let's dive into the Berachain testnet

🔎 Berachain ([**https://twitter.com/berachain**](https://twitter.com/berachain)) is a Cosmos-based Layer1 blockchain running on its own Proof-of-Liquidity consensus.

The project raised $42M from Polychain Capital, OKX Ventures, Hack VC and other funds. Top influencers and followers including a16z, Polychain, Cosmos team members and more follow the project on Twitter.

Over half a year ago, I already wrote about this project and its first testnet. Now they have launched a new stage of the test network called "Artio" where we can be active in hopes of future rewards.

📌 What to do:

*   Get test tokens from the faucet ([**https://artio.faucet.berachain.com/**](https://artio.faucet.berachain.com/)).
    
*   Go to the BEX site ([**https://artio.bex.berachain.com/swap**](https://artio.bex.berachain.com/swap)), connect your wallet and add the Berachain network.
    
*   Make swaps to stgUSDC and BTC + deposit some tokens to the pool to farm BGT.
    
*   Go to the Honey site ([**https://artio.honey.berachain.com/**](https://artio.honey.berachain.com/)) and swap stgUSDC for HONEY.
    
*   Next, go to this site ([**https://artio.bend.berachain.com/dashboard**](https://artio.bend.berachain.com/dashboard)), deposit BTC and borrow HONEY.
    
*   Wait until you can mint BGT tokens and delegate them on BGT Station ([**https://artio.station.berachain.com/validators/0x54cA4fcabA14ad59f0556d09853F130907E33b10**](https://artio.station.berachain.com/validators/0x54cA4fcabA14ad59f0556d09853F130907E33b10)).
    
*   Go to Berps ([**https://artio.berps.berachain.com/berpetuals**](https://artio.berps.berachain.com/berpetuals)) and open a long/short position, and deposit tokens to the pool.

💬 There is no deadline for the testnet, but better not delay this. Keep in mind the network is test and can lag a lot, so be patient.
