# Prime Protocol Testnet: Announcing Support for BNB Chain

Prime Protocol is excited to announce support for BNB Chain in our testnet beta! BNB Chain is a community-driven, open-sourced and decentralized ecosystem.

BNB Chain has many features that make it an excellent choice for decentralized applications, including fast transactions and low fees. With Prime, users will get access to competitively-low interest loans on any chain supported on Prime against their BNB deposits without having to worry about losing access to their BNB.

Users will be able to deposit BNB as well as funds from several other testnets into Prime Protocol and borrow against the entire value of their collateral. Prime Testnet supports MetaMask and Wallet Connect to give users a variety of options to deposit their funds into the application. **What is BNB Chain?**
----------------------

BNB Chain is a blockchain for building decentralized applications. BNB Chain is comprised of BNB Beacon Chain (BC) and BNB Smart Chain (BSC), which allows users the best of both worlds: the high transaction capacity of BC and the smart contract functionality of BSC. BSC supports smart contracts, enabling EVM compatibility for the chain. BNB Chain is well-known for its speedy transactions; new blocks are created every 3 seconds.

**What is Prime Protocol?**

Prime Protocol is building the first natively cross chain prime brokerage. Similar to margin loans in traditional finance, Prime offers over-collateralized stablecoin loans backed by investors’ entire digital portfolios, regardless of asset type or blockchain. Collateral can be deposited on any supported chain, and loans will be made available on any supported chain. This model of interoperability is revolutionary in the DeFi space, where existing infrastructure only supports loans within single blockchain ecosystems, often only backed by a single collateral type.
