They have overly high expectations for their performance and personal growth, which forces them to continuously push forward. They don't permit themselves to rest, sacrificing their health for their goals. And just like a car, when you drive too fast, that's when you're most likely to lose control. As someone who has experienced burnout more than once, I understand this feeling very well. Here’s a bit about my own story: I realized that intentional rest is incredibly important. Even machines need maintenance. We too need breaks to rejuvenate ourselves, enabling sustainable development in our own rhythms. I've observed this pattern in everything: When you engage in resistance training, your muscles don't grow during the workout; they grow during rest. The workout itself introduces damage to your muscles, which then become stronger through recovery. Similarly, staying up all night to study isn't always beneficial. Studying when you're not alert isn't effective. Sometimes, a good sleep (and entering REM sleep) is when neurons regenerate, helping to reinforce and deepen the memories you've studied. Therefore, from someone who used to be reluctant to spend money on outings, this year I've shifted my mindset. I've invested in trips and time away from work because to be creative (output), I need to add knowledge and experiences (input). Ultimately, I just want to say: Your efforts are incredibly valuable. But sometimes, return to yourself, listen deeply to your own needs, and ask yourself how you feel? What do you really need? Are you truly happy? At the end of the day, only you know what should be prioritized right now. Just a little deeper connection with yourself like this will tell you whether you need to speed up or slow down. Go fast when you can. But slowing down is what helps you go far.
