Christine tells CJAD sports columnist and radio host Jack McCallum that her greatest pleasure in the midst of suffering and being constantly on the road for work is spending her weekends with her sports-mad son. “We don’t see him a lot, but he’s a very proud hockey player,” Christine said. “We go to all the NHL games he plays in. We actually started to have our own fun and now I’m spending my weekends with him.” “He just bought a house in Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Conseil. He’s a little bachelor,” she said. “This is where we have our family dinners and share everything that’s happening in our lives. I’m so proud.” But what happens when the athlete reaches retirement age and the fame fades? Christine said she knows some people who are actually doing that. “You’ve got some people that are basically abandoned, like I know some people that have passed away who were famous,” she said. “When I worked with the Sharks, I got an email from someone saying he was working in a ski resort in Vermont
