When you purchase land in League of Kingdoms, you need to maintain or increase its level to continuously generate stable rewards. Otherwise, your land’s rewards will diminish over time, and eventually, it will become worthless. To achieve this, you must accumulate development points, and there are three main ways to do this:
Spend your own crystals.
Pay other players to spend crystals on your land.
Establish a guild like YGG, creating a reward system to attract players to spend crystals on your land.
For ordinary players, all three of these options are difficult to achieve. Most regular players fall into the first category—spending their own crystals to generate development points.
Let’s take a closer look at what it takes to maintain a piece of land. Consuming 5 crystals gives you 1 development point. To maintain a level 6 piece of land, you need to consume around 500,000 crystals per week, or else your land will lose its level and value. For most players, this is an impossible task.
Once you buy land, you essentially become a slave to it. You’ll find yourself constantly creating new accounts to farm more crystals to keep the land’s development points intact. But the cost of maintaining the land far outweighs the rewards.
Let me share my personal experience. I purchased 5 pieces of land for a total of 3.5 ETH (ETH was around $3,300 at the time). I now have 18 million development points, which generate only 4 LOKA per day. Here’s the catch: to reach 18 million development points, I had to consume 90 million crystals. Even if you own 9 connected lands in a 3x3 grid, doubling your development points, you’d still need 45 million crystals.
To put that into perspective, a $99 pack only gives you 15,000 crystals. To obtain 45 million crystals, you’d need to spend $300,000. As a regular player, if you try to farm crystals through crystal mines, a single account can only mine 100 times per day, and each time you mine a level 1 crystal, you only get 50 crystals. Even if you spent all day mining, you'd only gather 5,000 crystals per day.
It would take you 24.65 years to mine 45 million crystals, and even then, you’d only be earning 4 LOKA per day—which, at $0.2 per LOKA, amounts to just $0.80 per day. That’s not even enough to buy a loaf of bread, and yet, it requires your full-time effort just to sustain it.
If you think you can increase your efficiency by creating multiple accounts to mine more crystals, think again. One day, you’ll find yourself permanently banned for creating too many accounts, with all your accounts banned as well. That’s when you’ll realize that it's impossible for ordinary players to profit from land investment in this game.
