# Hearing

Hearing is the ability of humans and animals to perceive sound waves and interpret them as sounds. Sound waves are transmitted through the air and other media, and when they reach the ear, they cause vibrations of the eardrum, which are transmitted through the auditory bones to the inner ear. The inner ear contains an auditory organ, the cocleu, which converts sound waves into nerve impulses that are transmitted to the brain. The brain interprets these impulses as sounds that we hear. Hearing is an important feeling that helps us to communicate, navigate in space and enjoy music and other sounds in our lives.
