Ethereum (British: Ethereum) is the name of a blockchain platform for building decentralized applications (DApps) and smart contracts, and a general term for related open source software projects, the Ethereum Project is being developed. Ether is used as the currency (internal currency) necessary to use Ethereum, and is intended to be used as a utility currency. It was designed as a general-purpose computer and can run virtual machines.
