I didn’t know about Brrito until the year started. With a large part of the crypto folks at the moment hypnotised with the restaking narrative I thought interesting to look elsewhere. The Base ecosystem seems to be a quiet yet dynamic place for builders and investors. In its yearly developer activity report, Electric Capital highlighted how Base is the newest chain that managed to attract the most developers with ±1000 new developers in less than half a year.
I can’t remember how I discovered Brrito; probably some “brr” meme popped on my crypto Twitter and when checking the project I simply appreciate the early builder's vibes with sheer enthusiasm, support, memes and a good mood on the Discord, so here I am trying to add my very little to the project.
In 2023, as a one-man show - high five @KP, Brrito already delivered:
A cross-AMM router, allowing for gas efficient swapping across AMMs
brrETH, a yield-bearing ETH derivatives launched in December, with, at the time of this writing around 30 ETH in TVL. brrETH leverages Compound V3 on Base and the above-mentioned cross AMM router.
WERC721, a wrapper for ERC721 token (non-fongible token), allowing for cheaper transactions and operations, as mentioned in its repo, WERC721 is like “ERC721 on steroids”.

After laying down the foundation of its stack, Brrito will focus on Growth. KP shared that fundraising and new hires will be key for the project in the first quarter. This will multiply the project outputs by hopefully manyfold! So reach out on Discord if you are or if you know any:

Brrito fundraising is expected to start in February until end of March.
The completion of those two priorities will help Brrito in shipping new income generating products. Even if thats early, brr stakers can look forward to earn real yield! For those following the Discord, exciting and innovative (not an euphemism for once) sneak peaks have been shared!
By the end of 2024, Brrito’s goal is to surpass $10 million in TVL, a goal certainly achievable upon completion of the fundraising and hires. Base is only burgeoning and let’s see how Brrito can thrive it this new ecosystem.
