Despite the most trying market conditions Music NFTs have seen to date - the sector continues to trek ahead. We saw the largest Music NFT secondary sale (20 ETH) on Sound to date. Grimez gave a nod to AI music and onchain royalties. Sound, Showtime, Spinamp and Zora all shipped new product experiences for collectors. Illenium offered a digital vinyl for his new album in partnership with Medallion. But it's far from sunshine and rainbows in web3 music. Cuts are being made across the board as projects try to find the silver lining. And though we understand that desperate times call for desperate measures, we strongly believe conducting such business should always be done with respect. We must remain mindful not to recreate the systems we sought to improve upon. There is no room for misogyny or any kind of prejudice in web3. And we do not condone it. The misogynistic and disrespectful behavior demonstrated by members of the Dreams Never Die team during recent community calls is unacceptable and does not align with our values. Our hope is to build a safer, more inclusive and empowering space, and use recent events as a learning lesson to do better. This week highlighted the importance of cultivating community and culture as we weather the storm together. This one goes out to those showing up everyday.
