**Type 1: The Corporate Etherscan Client**

* They go to Etherscan, they have money

* They look for a company with structured processes

* They do due diligence on their partners

* Examples: Kakao (Klaytn), Line (Finschia), Arbitrum, BNB

**Type 2: The Degen Etherscan Client**

* They go to Etherscan because they don’t know about anything else

* They want a good block explorer but maybe they don’t have all that much money or they’re simply cost-conscious

* They build chains with a higher level of customization and knowledge

*   They’re skilled

* Examples: Blast, Frax, Berachain, Taiko, Flare

**Type 3: The New L2**

* They build a chain using a known rollup framework but don’t use a RaaS

* Mostly OP Chains or Arbitrum Orbit L2s

* They would like a block explorer for free or for very little money

* They don’t know and understand the economics behind chain indexing (they don’t understand that db and server costs will go way up as transaction history goes up)

* Examples: LightLink, Mode, Lisk, Zora, PGN, Ancient8

**Type 4: The L3**

* They talk with a RaaS (Conduit, Caldera, Gelato, etc.) to build their chain

* They don’t mind specifically about block explorer because they’re focused on their product offering

* They have little budget or are used to spend little budget on infra

    * Conduit starts from $3,000/month all-inclusive, Caldera a bit more than that

*   Example: Rari, XAI

**Type 5: The Commoditized L3**

* They talk to chain infrastructure providers, that in turn talk to RaaS, that provide everything from chain build to block explorers, wallet support, etc.

    * They don’t manage the ecosystem partnerships themselves, they just focus on their product

* Example: Degen Chain talks to Syndicate that builds the chain through Conduit
