blockchain, layers

---

Politics and tech are not that different.

Coordination layers used in politics to govern can be translated to tech coordination and execution layers, as well as security base layers.

We just need to figure out if such layering is too much or too little.

Bitcoin was born as an execution and security layer with very little programmatic coordination enforcement.

Ethereum L1 has grown as a security and coordination layer, delegating much of its execution to L2s, and L2s are on their own delegating some execution to L3s.

If the translation is correct, we don’t need L4s. Also - mainly - because not even L3s are sustainable, and what’s a chain if not an economically, auto-sustainable value execution machine?

These are just some thoughts, but more can be elaborated on this. I just don’t have enough thinking-time to dive in it properly.

But it surely is the biggest trend of the moment - now that we know how to scale both horizontally and vertically, what’s the best way to do so to ensure millions of transactions per second that execute every single value change in the world?
