# Social Media Bubble 🫧

In this article I will explain why the diversity of social networks is not always optimal and how today’s Social Media try to put their users into a bubble.

Of course I will talk about the solution to this problems

First, lets talk about **Users**. They have two objectives, **consume** and **create** content. For this, they need platforms that let them do this activities as quick as simple and possible. Fortunately we have those platforms!

PROBLEMS
--------

But, there are some **problems**. Users need an specific platform for each activity. This may not seem as a trouble at all, but let’s think for a bit 🤔

### Migrating for one platform to another ✈️

When using a new platform, users have to learn the basic plus the new complex implementations. It’s a new UX/UI users have to **learn from 0.**

### Data 🗂️

A user profile is packed with all his data. This data, **varies** based on the platform they are using. Followers, photos, history and preferences are some examples of it. They have to **start all over again** when moving to new experiences.

### Identity 👤

Each platform is a new identity. Imagine being “@Juampi” on every platform you use. Suddenly a new app is trending, but someone took your handle before you. Now you are “@Juampi341”, yes, that **SUCKS**.

Also, in the worst scenario, they can now **impersonate** you and scam the community!

### Passwords and email 🔐

Having one password and one e-mail/username for each platform doesn’t scale at all. Users have 10 apps on their phone, clicking ‘**forget password**’ on every log in.

### No interoperability 🔁

This has a reason behind. Each platform, wants to **keep** their **users** as much as possible into their app. They want us to be slaves from their interfaces.

> "They want to keep users in a Bubbles 🫧”

But, what if I told you there is a solution?
--------------------------------------------

**It’s called @LensProtocol 🌿**

Lens it’s a free and open ecosystem, where users can upload multiple types of data and visualize them from different interfaces.

In Lens, users can upload content from any dApp and, in most cases, they support multiple type of files 📂

Not only this, because of being an ecosystem, **users** can **post** 📝 from one dApp and **visualize** 👀 the content from a different one in a completely new interface!

### Some examples of this:

🎬 Uploading a video on **@lenstubexyz** and watching it from **@lensterxyz**

📸 Uploading a photo on **@Fanstasticok** and collecting it from **@orbwagmi** to then put it in auction in **@lensport\_io**

👤 Maybe following someone on **@phaverapp** and like his post from **@lenstaxyz**

### All in one

One handle, one profile, one identity, same data, multiple platform. Just connect your wallet and ✨, all your data imported to the new app.

That’s the magic of Lens 🌿

**_Disclaimer_**: Magic don’t exist, is just a bunch of Devs and tech stuff 😂C

Conclusion
----------

New platforms are appearing every day, competing for users retention, without looking the whole scope.

Protocols like **Lens** are bringing a new experience without taking away what we know. Lens is a **new paradigm** that won’t kill traditional social media, they only bring an alternative.

It’s time for a change.
