This time I traversed between the living world and afterlife. Are you ready to read it with an open heart? One day, I was given a stunning purplish-blue butterfly with black-edged wings that extended into delicate tails. It was wrapped gently in a soft white tissue. I held it carefully in my hand, I thought it was already dead. My aunt asked me to transform its beautiful wings into a pair of symmetrical earrings. I had no idea why but the thought of cutting such a delicate creature seemed cruel. But I handed it to the craftsman, my brother. As he unwrapped the tissue on his hand, the butterfly gently batted its wings. With what seemed like a last burst of energy, it flew from his hand, but gravity quickly pulled it down, and it fell to the ground like an autumn leaf. My brother picked it up, placing it back on the tissue as it made its last escape. Suddenly a bee appeared, persistently buzzing around the butterfly. No matter how my brother tried to shoo it away, it kept returning. As if it came back for the butterfly. At that moment, I suddenly had a vision. I was supposed to help the butterfly fulfil its destiny, and mine. You see, the bee, the butterfly, and I, the confluence of lives. The universe has its mysterious design to have our paths intertwined. A series of seemingly unrelated events had lead to this convergence and we’re all playing a part in a greater plan. As I snapped back to reality, my brother ended the butterfly’s life. The bee stopped hovering. I stood still, staring at the lifeless wings. The world seemed to have come to a halt. I felt a sharp pain in my neck. Did someone harmed me or did I? I couldn’t tell. But it didn’t matter now that my mission had just begun. I found myself at a busy crossroad with Madame Butterfly, now dressed in a regal purple gown. I knew my mission was to accompany her to the Afterlife Purpose Department, where she’d learn about the afterlife and her special mission in her next life, like me. As she was walking to a car that was supposed to take her to a normal afterlife, I grabbed her arm and introduced myself. She greeted me warmly, as if we were old friends. Together we walked into the department. It was like a regular looking office with regularly dressed officers that you would see in any governmental department in the living world. There we sat and explained how a series of events had led to the butterfly’s misfortune. It turned out that Madame Butterfly had a greater mission that required her to relinquish her current life form. As the officials detailed the plan to her, my thoughts drifted. It all made sense now- why my life had felt so aimless. I hadn’t remembered my true purpose until our paths crossed. In that moment of realisation, I understood that the universe has its mysterious ways of intertwining lives and destinies. The bee, the butterfly, and I were all part of a grand design, each fulfilling our roles in a cosmic dance that transcended the ordinary. The series of seemingly unrelated events led us to this convergence, revealing the profound interconnectedness of all things. And so, as Madame Butterfly listened to her new purpose, I felt a sense of peace and clarity. My own journey had just begun, and I was ready to embrace it with open wings. ## Publication Information - [A Collection of Worlds](https://paragraph.com/@jastra/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@jastra/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@jastra): Subscribe to updates
