# Appointments with Yourself **Published by:** [jer979](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/) **Published on:** 2025-02-20 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/appointments-with-yourself ## Content Of all of the digital hacks I’ve learned over the years, one of the most transformative has been to “turn to-do list items into calendar appointments.” I was told that “if you don’t have a specific time at which you are going to take care of a task, the likelihood that it will get done drops.” So, I do this…relentlessly. Even for minor tasks, like “call the health insurance company.” Is there a point below which I don’t? Of course, but anything that is 10-15 mins or more, I turn into an appointment. Of course, things happen and you may need to adjust, but digital calendars are great for that. However, if you put the small stuff on the calendar, you’re much more likely to put the important stuff on the calendar, the kind of thing that will help you grow and reinvent yourself, like a daily coffee chat with AI. Then, it comes down to “what kind of person are you?” Do you keep your appointments or do you ignore them? If you and I had a call scheduled, would you show up? So, why won’t you show up for a call with yourself? Aren’t you important? ## Publication Information - [jer979](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@jer979-2): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/jer979): Follow on Twitter
