# Coffee with AI

Every day for the past month, I’ve had a coffee date with AI.

I literally sit down, with a cup of coffee, with an appointment on my calendar that says “coffee with AI”.

During that time, AI (I’ve used [ChatGPT](https://chatgpt.com), [Gemini](https://gemini.google.com/app), [Perplexity](https://www.perplexity.ai), [Claude](https://www.claude.ai), and [Venice](https://venice.ai/)) and I literally have a chat, the way I would with a friend.

It’s not “write this letter for me” or “do this or that.”

No, it’s a chance for us to have a conversation about whatever topic I want.

Many days, recently, at least, it’s been about quantum computing and its aspects and implications.

Sometimes, I am in need of financial or tax advice.

Sometimes, I do a therapy session on an emotional issue that is challenging me.

Or, it can be help with how to present a difficult topic to a friend.

It really doesn’t matter.

What matters is that I look at the AI in the same way that I would if I were having coffee with you.

Only the AI has the amassed knowledge of all of the world’s PhDs in any topic, has infinite patience, doesn’t look at its phone during the conversation, and has versatility to explain things to me in a variety of ways.

The point here is that I’m training myself to collaborate with AI.

It’s easy to be AI’s boss.

It’s more challenging, but more rewarding, to be AI’s friend.
