It makes me wonder if, what couldn’t be accomplished by proclamation, will be accomplished out of necessity. While the war in Ukraine is awful, the fact that one of the side effects has been the Russian withholding of natural gas from Europe, may be a net positive. In the short term, prices will go up and that is going to suck for a lot of people. However, if the market (alongside the existing government support) responds, it may be a net positive for the EU..and the world. Russia is just conducting a modern day siege of a fortress.
