# Gratitude to MetaMask

It’s the interface through which most of us experienced Web3 for the first time. And it’s done an admirable job of staying in the lead since then.

But, it’s not going to be enough to get us over the chasm to the Early Majority.

Too clunky. Too geeky. Too difficult for most people to manage.

Early products are not meant to be smooth and sophisticated. They are meant to just “get the job done.”

MetaMask is one of those products.

I’d be a bit surprised if it were still the market leader in 10-15 years.
