# How Was It?

“How was it?”

It’s kind of a lazy question.

If “it” had any type of profound impact, then “it” deserves a thoughtful response…and a thoughtful question.

And if “it” wasn’t profound, you’re going to get a lazy response: “fine.”

Either way, an opportunity is missed to learn something…and help your conversation partner learn something as well.

Peel it back:

* “what surprised you most about the experience?”

* “what was the biggest takeaway from the experience?

* “what expectations were met or left unmet?”

and there are 1000s of others. ChatGPT can help.

But one-level deeper questions afford the opportunity to, much more quickly, uncover the value…and show you care.

One of the things I took away from [The Hidden Story of Every Person](https://amzn.to/4jRyeCm) was that we all ask ourselves deep, existential questions…very frequently.

But getting the answers requires help from those whom we choose to surround ourselves with.

Everyone wins when an extra 5 seconds of thought has the potential to unlock a world of value.
