# Innovation Timeframes **Published by:** [jer979](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/) **Published on:** 2022-12-09 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/innovation-timeframes ## Content Where are we with the cycle of Web3 innovation? The answer depends a lot on the person with whom you are speaking. The long-time insiders seem to have reached a conclusion that Bitcoin will dominate the store-of-value market and Ethereum has too much staying power. They may be right. But I look at the world of people NOT in crypto. I think about how far removed they are from the powers of Web3 and I see the barriers to usage. For example, I can only publish this blog from computers that have the private key for this particular Ethereum account. And, for security reasons, I don’t have it on every computer. As a student of history, I just keep reminding myself of the distance between innovation and adoption. The one I use most frequently is powered flight. The Wright Brothers succeeded in 1903, but it wasn’t until 40 years later that the commercial jet aviation innovation crossed the chasm. I don’t believe that Web3 is quite ready to make that cross, despite everyone’s wish that it will soon. Which is why I have confidence that Radix has a shot, at least. And this is why. ## Publication Information - [jer979](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@jer979-2): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/jer979): Follow on Twitter
