The feeling of “oh yeah, NOW I get it.” It rushes over and through the body, bringing a slight smile to the face and relaxing the jaw. For a second, I feel lighter. I feel like I see things that others don’t. Maybe even, dare I say it, “superior?” But the feeling fades and the mind begins its wrestling again, searching for another shot of “brilliance” and a rush of supposed genius euphoria. And that feeling of “superiority” where I’m elevated, as if sitting on a throne or a cloud? That’s just the ego, an artificial construct, like a drug dealer pushing on the street corner, saying “you like that feeling, right? I bet you want more of it. Let me give it to you.” And sure, it feels good, but like any drug, there’s a downside. And a crash.
