# Narrative Sales **Published by:** [jer979](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/) **Published on:** 2025-08-31 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/narrative-sales ## Content We’re all in the narrative selling business. We observe the animate, inanimate, physical, and metaphysical world around us and then, like organizing an overstuffed closet, the contents of which have been tossed on the floor, we start to try and make sense of things. Winter clothes go here. Summer clothes here. Or clothes we haven’t worn in years, we donate and others we bring back to our daily routine. It doesn’t matter what sorting algorithm we use, but what matters-and what’s difficult for me, at least- is to be aware of the fact that a sorting algorithm (or many nested sorting algorithms) are being used. In sum, these create stories that make sense to us, but only if we “buy” them. What’s interesting to me is that, it feels like there’s a level where nothing exists except the story. Or really, the stories that roll up into the über-story. Awareness of one’s own story and what “fits” (or is “bought”) and what doesn’t is already an impressive feat. Keeping in mind-at all times-that everyone else is doing the exact same thing feels impossible, but powerful. And true Jedis? They recognize the stories that others tell themselves and then build narratives that slide nicely in. There’s something here. I can sense it. I just don’t know-yet-how to drill further. But my story is…I’m going to deconstruct the story-building machines. That feels like fun. ## Publication Information - [jer979](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@jer979-2): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/jer979): Follow on Twitter
