# Vulnerable Time **Published by:** [jer979](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/) **Published on:** 2025-04-29 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/vulnerable-time ## Content Two things I’ve been contemplating a lot recently are vulnerability and time. A simple answer may be because I’m scared of both of them. Vulnerability is, I think, at its core a fear of death. And time may just be the same thing. So, I do what I think many other people do, which is try to “defeat” vulnerability and time. I love building systems and infrastructure to protect me from vulnerability. And I love calendars and efficiency so I feel like I don’t waste time. But deep down, I know it’s a game I can’t win. That’s not to say the work I do on infrastructure and calendars is wasted, it’s not. But I think there’s an opportunity reframe them for what they could be instead of what they are. They are containers to allow for me to do the real work of appreciating, embracing, confronting, and leaning into randomness, vicissitudes, and unpredictability. Because, in the end, that’s the challenge and the opportunity. Live in harmony with the total disharmony. ## Publication Information - [jer979](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/): Publication homepage - [All Posts](https://paragraph.com/@jer979-2/): More posts from this publication - [RSS Feed](https://api.paragraph.com/blogs/rss/@jer979-2): Subscribe to updates - [Twitter](https://twitter.com/jer979): Follow on Twitter
