The implementation of EIP-4844, also known as Proto-Danksharding, will bring about several changes to the Ethereum network. Here are the key changes that will occur after EIP-4844:

1. Reduction in Transaction Fees: One of the main benefits of EIP-4844 is the significant reduction in transaction costs on the Ethereum network. This upgrade aims to lower transaction fees to a sub-penny level, making transactions much more affordable for users. This reduction in fees will open up new possibilities and applications that were previously not feasible due to high transaction costs.

2. Improved Scalability: EIP-4844 is part of Ethereum's sharding design, which addresses the scalability issues of the network. Sharding involves partitioning the Ethereum database into smaller segments, improving efficiency and performance. With EIP-4844, Ethereum's transactions per second (TPS) are expected to increase to approximately 1,000, compared to the current base layer TPS of 15. This increased scalability will enable Ethereum to handle a much larger volume of transactions, making it more efficient and capable of supporting widespread adoption.

3. Introduction of Blob-Carrying Transactions: EIP-4844 introduces a new transaction format called "blob-carrying transactions." These transactions allow for the inclusion of additional data without compromising the composability and execution layer on Layer 1 (L1). The contents of the blobs are propagated separately as a "sidecar," ensuring data availability without impacting the execution of smart contracts. This innovation enhances the capabilities of Ethereum's Layer 2 (L2) solutions, such as rollups, by providing more data availability capacity.

4. Lower Fees for L2 Solutions: The implementation of EIP-4844 will provide significant scaling relief for L2 solutions, such as rollups. It allows rollups to scale to 0.25 MB per slot initially, with a separate fee market for blobs. This means that fees for L2 transactions will be very low, making it more cost-effective for users to transact on Layer 2. This reduction in fees will encourage the adoption of L2 solutions and further improve the scalability of the Ethereum network.

5. Future Compatibility with SSZ Serialization: EIP-4844 includes changes related to Simple Serialize (SSZ) formatting, which is used for data serialization on the Ethereum network. These changes make Ethereum more future-compatible with the SSZ serialization scheme, which is being standardized between the execution layer (EL) and consensus layer (CL). By aligning the serialization formats, Ethereum can improve network efficiency and reduce overhead.

Overall, the implementation of EIP-4844 will bring about lower transaction fees, improved scalability, enhanced capabilities for L2 solutions, and future compatibility with SSZ serialization. These changes will contribute to the growth and development of the Ethereum ecosystem, making it more accessible, efficient, and competitive in the blockchain industry.
