# Hello, web3.

Over the past few years, I’ve merely been a spectator of the crypto space. Sure, I invested in Bitcoin and Ethereum using the Coinbase exchange but beyond that, I didn't explore much deeper than surface level. That changed this year when I began to dive deeper, learning as much as I can about crypto, NFTs, DeFi, etc. Although it’s all very new to me and I’m super confused all the time, it’s also very exciting. I have a newfound energy to learn and grow, it’s invigorating.

All that said, I still don’t have a lot of direction and find myself jumping from one resource to another without any clear path or objective. I learn about a project, check it out, and then go through the hoops to figure out how to get involved. I’m not sure what the purpose of it all is but I continue to learn about the space and all that it entails. The only thing of value that I can contribute right now is provide a few of the resources that have helped me to learn and grow.

* [Oddysey](https://www.odysseydao.com/learn) -- A pretty helpful resource for learning all things web3 including information on cryptocurrency, NFTs, DeFi, DAOs, etc. I started my path by signing up for their “12 days of web3” email newsletter, which had a lot of educational content. I’m looking forward to more from this community.

* [Crypto, Culture, and Society](https://society.mirror.xyz) -- This is a cool community that is “building the liberal arts for crypto”. They just dropped The [Crypto Starter Kit](https://cryptosociety.notion.site/WEB3-STARTER-PACK-5a922714348e4a7cbaa45b2f0a8861bd), which provides a pathway of learning all about web3.

* [Kernel](https://kernel.community/en/) -- As they explain it, Kernel is a peer-to-peer, lifelong network of awesome humans. In short, they are building a learning community with “blocks” or cohorts of 250 individuals who go through a learning path together.

Between just these three, I expect to have a strong foundation as I continue to make my way deeper and deeper inside the dark rabbit hole that is web3. I hope you find these resources helpful to you as well.

Cheers,

J.
