Hello. Welcome to my music newsletter. I want to thank everyone who read my first newsletter. I was very happy if you listened to the music in the first newsletter. Let's move on to our second newsletter.
I want to share different kinds of music with you. I want to play the songs that I believe people must listen to. Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Egypt, Greece, and Lebanon are my main areas of interest,
but I listen to all genres and world music.
If the world is an orchestra, Azerbaijan is its conductor. Beautiful culture, beautiful music, and good education.
My wife is a pianist who graduated from a Russian-style conservatory in Azerbaijan.
In Turkey, I could receive only about one percent of the education she received.
An underrated Turkish rap song that I think deserves more listeners.
The year is 2010. It’s a cold winter day. Outside, it’s freezing. Inside the car, it’s warm. You’re holding an ice-cold beer, and this song is playing. For a while, the thoughts and stress in your head disappear.
We lost our sister Güllü recently. Our youth passed with her songs.
R.I.P.
Put on your headphones, turn the volume all the way up, close your eyes, and let yourself fall under Roza’s spell while thinking of the person you love the most.
Darkness will stare from every swamp, from every gorge,
A whip will whistle joyously above the skewbald pair.
On your lone flight into the dark, you will sing of your grief,
While I will weep in solitude an olden song.
In my opinion, it’s a perfect song in Russian — the most elegant language in the world.
We’ve come to the end of another newsletter. I hope you enjoy the songs.
